Resumen

Recent research suggests that normative judgments linked to the environment may appear early in development and that these appear to be independent of the process of understanding biological concepts such as the notion of being alive. In this line of work, the research project presented aims to analyze the drawings of a sample of 140 children between 4 and 8 years old from Spain and the Dominican Republic on the topic of plant life and relate these data with their knowledge of the concept of living being. Three types of tests are used: an understanding test of the concept of living being, environmental dilemmas and a free drawing activity on the plant kingdom. It is expected to provide new evidence on how environmental thinking evolves and the graphic expression around linked to biological phenomena during the early stage of childhood.
