Abstract

This paper explores the extent to which the perception of R&D, and of science and technology in general, by management positions is related to the innovation activities carried out by their companies. In particular, we observe the attitude and interest of the company towards science and technology, the benefits and risks attributed to the collaboration with the scientific system, as well as the barriers perceived by companies to carry out R&D activities and innovation in order to observe if there are differences between those who have some innovative experience or lack it. The results of the study are based on a survey of 707 Spanish companies.
