Resumen

The need to interpret the contexts of prehistoric human activity that took place in the decorated sectors of palaeolithic caves, with special focus on the areas that are harder to reach, has led us to devise a methodology that is based on morphological characteristics of this spaces to establish quantitative values of access difficulty. For this, we have used the 3D model of a decorated cavern, utilising such software as Meshlab© or Blender© to process the spatial information. Previous geomorphological studies are necessary to determine any geological or anthropic changes that have occurred in the endokarst since prehistoric frequentation. We have started applying this method in a decorated cave (Atxurra) with satisfactory results. Continue applying these methods in different caves, comparing the obtained access difficulty values with the characteristics of the graphic production and its distribution, will allow us to observe differences in the patterns
