Resumen

El concepto de exclusión social es complejo, ya que se trata de un proceso multidimensional y dinámico. El objetivo de este estudio es identificar el perfil clínico de las personas que están en riesgo de exclusión social, analizar las diferencias de género respecto al modelo de exclusión social de Jehoel-Gijsbers y Vrooman, así como obtener un modelo predictivo de los problemas de salud mental. Para ello se aplicó el Instrumento de Valoración de la Exclusión Social del Sistema Vasco de Servicios Sociales a una muestra de 597 personas del País Vasco en riesgo de exclusión social. El 84% de participantes presentaba indicios de algún trastorno mental de mayor o menor gravedad. Las mujeres presentaban mejor situación socio-cultural que los hombres, aunque su nivel de ingresos económicos era inferior. En los modelos de predicción de los problemas de salud, la dimensión socio-cultural y la autonomía funcional eran las más relevantes. En los programas de intervención psicosocial habría que integrar los servicios de salud mental, para brindarles una atención integral y promover la inclusión social.
