Abstract
Sixteen sampling trips been carried out from february to ju ne 1985, in order to determine the temporary variations in nutrient concentration in Plencia Bay. Results have shown that silicate, phosphate, nitrate and nitrite had higher concentrations in the upper layer of the water column, due to the river runoff. The first three of them decreased in concentration with time, while nitrite rised up to their highest values, possibly by effect of a greater biological activity. Nutrient concentrations did not carry the system to a great degree of eutrophication, and seems not to limite the growth of phytoplankton.
