Abstract

The Los Pedroches granodiorite pluton is located within the late-Hercynian Los Pedroches batholith in the southern part of the Central-tberian Zone of the Hesperian Massif. The granodiorite shows petrological features consistent with an origin by mixing at depth of mantle and crustal derived magmas. Geochemical data have been used to derive a model of mixing of basic magmas of subalkaline or monzoniUc (shoshonitic) afinity with anatectic silicic melts to yield granodiorite rocks. Potassium-rich calcalkaline melts of similar geochemical features to those of the Los Pedroches granodiorite are thus obtained far specific degrees of mixing of the assumed end-members.
