Resumen

Starting with a review of the literature, we define the concept of dual education, the advantages of implementing the system, ways in which it is being developed in Europe and early experience in Spain. We analyse the principal educational and operating challenges involved in implementing such a system and we describe the specific proposal for introducing dual education in the degree course in Business Administration and Management at the University of the Basque Country's School of Economics and Business Studies (Gipuzkoa Section), involving the creation of a minor in “Dual (University-Business) Education” course. The findings of the study may serve as a good guide for academic authorities interested in introduction of this educational system.
