Abstract

The beginning of the 20th century brought important social, cultural and educational changes to Bilbao. In this context we note the contribution of the pedagogues Agirrezabala, Méndez de la Torre and Casiano, who were inspired by European models. They materialized remarkable school initiatives and improvements in the formation of the teachers.
