Resumen

The Early to Late Aptian rocks of the Northeastern Basque Cantabrian Basin in the area of Trucios are analyzed from a stratigraphic-sedimentological perspective. A mixed (alternate) carbonate-siliciclastic shallow marine nearshore depositional system is defined on the basis offacies analysis and vertical and lateral correlation. This system is subdivided in three superimposed carbonate ramps and two confined estuarine troughs. They latter were filled with siliciclastic sediments in more subsident blocks, bounded by active synsedimentary faults in an extensional regime.
