Abstract

The management of the process “research-developmenttransfer (RDT)” of scientific and technological knowledge is a key activity within Universities. But this process can not be analysed with conventional tools, due to its characteristics. So, we propose a methodology based on the knowledge and intellectual capital concepts. The aim is to show an original methodology for the assessment of that process through the searching of critical knowledge. This knowledge, embodied in the process, creates the RDT Capital. The paper’s structure is as follows: first, critical knowledge is identified, then an exploratory analysis is applied to that knowledge . Finally, a process’ assessment is realized with a confirmatory analysis (based on surveys applied to researchers, firms, and institutions).
