Abstract
Extranodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma of the maxillas is infrequent, and is usually the result of dissemination of the disease. The incidence of primary maxillary extranodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma is even lower among non-HIV infected patients. Clinically, this type of lymphoma is nonspecific and the manifestations are compatible with endo- or periodontal lesions, causing inflammation, pain and dental mobility. In addition, the radiolog ical picture may simulate endo-periodontal pathology. As a result, diagnostic error is common. The diagnostic difficulties involved in turn lead to delayed oncological treatment, which consequently worsens patient prognosis. Two cases of primary maxillary extranodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma are presented, and a review is made of the literature.
