Abstract

This paper gives an account of the process of material degradation of San Prudencio’s Monastery of Mount Laturce (Clavijo, La Rioja, Spain) from the eviction during the 19th century up to the present days. Moreover, a correlation is established between its progressive ruination and the different uses that the place has hosted. Uses that, at the same time, have been conditioned by the changing social value given by the inhabitants to the location. The second part of the text describes an initiative which aims for the preservation of the graphic information recorded in the aforementioned monastery during the course of an academic activity which took place for two years (2010-2011).
