Abstract

This paper studies the Spanish versions by Pedro de Rúa of the Twelfth Rules and the twoletters sent by Pico della Mirandola to his nephew Giovanni Francesco. These works, together with other consolatory texts, are contained in the MS 7806 from BNE. The stylistic features in Pedro de Rúa’s paraphrase allow their placing within the tradition of the miseria hominis and their connection with the vernacular humanistic reception of Pico’s theological poetics.
