Abstract
The acknowledgement of the condition as victim of terrorism (in the broadest sense) and, therefore, the award of the corresponding compensations together with their updating in the practice is made at national level conditional as consequence of the interpretation of the application and content of article 8.2 of the European Convention on the Compensation of victims of violent crimes from 1983 which at the Home Office is carrying out the General Direction for the Support of victims of terrorism. The tensions that have arisen between this interpretation and the principle of legality puts into question in our opinion, as we will try to show in this current work, the constitutionality itself of the specific application of the aforementioned Convention.
