Abstract
During the last three decades, the materials know as glass-ionomer cements and composites have been widely used by clinics; this means, that they are perfectly located in the the- rapeudic spectrum of each professional. The apperance of the materials which combine the components of both groups have caused a major confusion about it's correct nomenclature, using clinical and mechanical properties, which, continue to increase because of the fast advances and changes of the Dental Companies. This work intends to clarify the different names and characteristics which accompany these materials.
