Abstract
A control signal is synthesized which optimizes a quadratic cost function of the state and control signals for a control a discrete system involving delays in the state and control signals. Also, a theoretical solution to the optimal control for a cost function based on the output and control signals is presented. The problem is formulated with, in general, different planning horizons for the state and control signals.
