Resumen

The objective of this work is to study whether the behaviour of the housing market is homogeneous in all provinces or, on the contrary, there is a specific housing behaviour particular to each province or group of provinces, leading to the existence of regional housing markets. The main data source used in this study comes from the Housing Transactions Statistics, provided by the Ministry of Housing for all the Spanish provinces. We applied Multiple Factorial Analysis and Cluster Analysis in order to identify the main features that characterise the housing market of each province or group of provinces. The results show that the behaviour in the Spanish provinces housing markets is heterogeneous, detecting the presence of housing submarkets and highlighting the existence of di®erent regional dynamics.
