Abstract
Neste trabalho foi realizada uma revisão da investigação referente à influência de pessoas significativas, como pais, mães e/ou treinadores na motivação intrínseca de jovens esportistas. Busca-se evidência procedente das duas teorias clássicas da psicologia do esporte: A teoria da avaliação cognitiva e a teoria de metas de sucesso. A partir da revisão realizada se defende uma proposta teórica que busca o papel da orientação motivacional assim como o da competência percebida e da percepção da autonomia na motivação intrínseca. O trabalho finaliza com a descrição da integração de ambos modelos.
