Abstract

The development of Transition, understood as the change from a dictatorship to a democracy, was essentially the same in the whole Spain, excepting the Basque Country, where the Transition was synonymous of «rupture» with the Francoism. The transition developed as an agreement couldn’t be, for a majority of Basque people, an authentic transition. Since then, the Transition has been present in the political debate. That’s why the Transition is being nowadays something more than an historical issue of great interest only for historians
