Laburpena

Who participate and involve themselves more in politics? This has become one of the most frequent questions in contemporary political science. According to numerous studies, sex has always been a basic variable in the analysis of political activity, in that men have been shown to be more active in nearly all forms of political participation. But is this statement still true for contemporary societies? The aim of this article is to describe the current inequality in the political participation of women and men in the specific case of the Basque Autonomous Region. The information provided in this article relies on data related to three dimensions of political participation: institutions, organized participation, and individual or autonomous participation.
