Abstract
In this paper we consider together the notions of knowledge and information, with the aim of studying some relations between them from a double point of view: first, we present a notion of knowledge based on an objective idea of information, and in a second step, we analyse how information is understood in classical modal axiomatizations for knowledge. We make some conceptual distinctions related with the notions mentioned above in order to study their usefulness in formal frameworks.
