Abstract
In this work is compared the composition, concentration and the specialisation in manufacturing production from the Basque Country with those of Spain. The article study both the situation in 1995 as well as the evolution observed during the period 1985-1995. We have observed that the basque manufactured industry is specialisated in traditional sectors, in sectors with a weak growth demand, in sectors producers of half-finished goods and in sectors with a low technological level. The evidence found in this paper suggest that it is necessary to change the specialisation of the basque manufactured industry.
