Background. The authors of this paper are implementing a system of personalized tutoring in the Degree in Marine Engineering from the University of the Basque Country. One of the main tools for the degree of fulfillment of the objectives of this plan is evaluation. Method. We conducted an evaluation of the whole process to show the university, tutors and students involved in these tutorials if the objectives are achieved. We will analyze all aspects of the tutorial plan. Results. With this evaluation we get to know more deeply the social, academic and personal characteristics, etc. of our students. Through this knowledge we can identify the training needs of students. Meet the views that students have about the degree and their suggestions to improve this. All this information helps us when considering actions to improve teaching. Conclusions. This objective evaluation helps us to develop our tutorial work effectively. The information in the evaluation process allows us to propose improvement actions. This process needs to be continuously improved to suit the changing needs of students and new degrees.
