Abstract
This work analyzes Woody Allen's humorous interpretation of Greek Tragedy in Mighty Aphrodite. More specifically, it examines how and to what end the American film-maker transforms Greek Tragedy into comedy, or at least makes the tragedy lose that seriousness which is so characteristic of the geme. An original experiment, Mighty Aphrodite is a modern comedy that inclu des a Greek Tragedy: theatre within film and tragedy which becomes comedy.
