Laburpena

This work analyses the different ways of expressing the approxi­mation in which όλίγος and μικρός participate in the corpus of the Greek nov­el. The genitive form of these adjectives expresses the defective approximation in three different constructions: as an adjunct of the predication (δεῑόλγον / μικροṽ+ infinitive) , and by the invariable forms, όλγον δεῑν / μικροṽ δεῑν and δλίγοṽ / μικρόṽ. The latter two can be analyzed as focus adverbs. Other forms of these adjectives (alone or in prepositional syntagmas) could also be inter­preted as approximative, both excessive and defective
