Abstract
This study analyzes the structural and criterion validity of the Mood Affect Regulation Scale (Larzen & Prizmic, 2008). This scale differentiates modification of situation and social support, reorientation of attention and cognitive change, and modification of the emotional response. Confirmatory factor analysis show that families of regulation fits with the model. Adaptive forms of regulation were associated with perceived adjustment to work stress, psychological well-being, emotional creativity and creative responses to work related conflict in a sample of workers. Implications of self-regulation for the individual and the organizational context are discussed.
