Abstract

The main purpose for this research is to analyze the relationship between journalists and military not only during th e embedded system, but also before and after being designed and implemented by the Department of Defense of the Unites States of America in the Iraq war in 2003. This study is mainly focused on journalism and war reporting professionals. The main objective consists in the relationship between journalists and soldiers during military operations, its historical development, how it has been influenced, as well as working conditions for war reporters. The goal is a historical-theoretical analysis, on the one side, around the figure of the embedded war reporter since its emergence on the scene until the Iraq war, considering the mayor changes that occurred in their relationship with military, their presence in the battlefield, their regulation, profile and working conditions, focusing mainly in the Spanish case. On the other side, the study proposes to analze the communication structure and function in Spanish Forces. How communication is organized and managed during military operations and the effects that the embedded system in Irak 2003 has supposed. The goal is to know which the current relationship between journalists and military is during operations where Spanish troops are taking part.
