Abstract
The high incidence of traumatic injuries in the oral, facial and cranium areas, has often led to the search for preventative mechanisms that would reduce the frequency and seriousness of these injuries. The mouthguards currently in use by sportmen and sportwoman has drastically reduced these injuries. We propose a new design of a bimaxillary mouthguard which includes two different types of materials, with different elasticity and a general increase in its capacity to absorb energy in situations of direct impact.
