Zusammenfassung

Nowadays the car is the most common means of transport, producing sedentarism, an increase in traffic chaos and a rise in pollution and noise. To solve these problems there are new policies which are friendly for ecodesign and committed to sustainable development. These promote the use of alternative means of transport like bicycles. However, to encourage its use, it is necessary to build a good infrastructure or to improve the existing one. One of the things to do, will be to put bicycle-parks in places, like universities, schools, beaches, sport centres, bus stops, train and underground stations among others. When looking at the bicycle-parks we have noticed that they don’t meet the expectations, and they are not suitable for people’s needs. That is why it is necessary to build bicycle-parks with specific characteristics. They should have a nice and new design. We should use non-polluting materials and we should maximise their capacities. We should also take into the account that they should be cost-effective. This project aims at achieving a bicycle-park whose design suits the new trends and encourages the use of the bicycle.
