Zusammenfassung
The objective of this study is to analyze the principles of universality and solidarity in the orphan's pension. To do this, first, is exposed the conceptualization of the universal principles of Social Security. Second, the orphan's pension is analyzed in Spain (beneficiaries, amount of pension, birth and extinction of the orphan's pension, Spanish jurisprudence on the orphan's pension, and disability and orphans' pension) and in Latin America, specifically in Costa Rica. Third and last, some thoughts are brought forward.
