Zusammenfassung
The habit of naming local children with Basque-origin names has been reactivated a few decades ago and nowadays a vast majority of them have Basque names. Due to unstudied reasons, in the rest of Spain parents have started to follow the same path, albeit to a lesser extent. This article aims to analyze that trend by determining quantitatively the amount of Basque-named citizens and qualitatively looking into reasons and consequences behind that choice.
