Résumé
The mintings of the taifa kingdoms are a reflection of al-Andalus’s political fragmentation in the fith century AH. At that time, the emissions were irregular and the assay of the coinswas unstable. The interpretation of such complex monetary policy required a numismatic treatise which would take into account all the data related to the coins of the eleventh century. This is what we have prepared in our research. Below we will explain the methodology that we have developed, consisting of comparing and analyzing chronologically the mintings of the different taifa dynasties. Among the data that we have taken into account is the metal composition of the coins, because metallographic studies developed in the last decades allow for a more precise analysis of this important information.
