Résumé
Abstract Economic, political and social crisis still happen nowadays. Projects and decisions made in these times have all kind of responses. Something similar happened in the thirties of the past century. Second Spanish Republic, Government of Euzkadi, different councils and towns tried to ease the effects of the crisis. The differences of this situation in the Basque Country played an important role in the process. The study of public works will help to know the political and economic reasons as well as the needs for development and the infrastructures that drove public works or stop them in some cases.
