Zusammenfassung

This paper analyses the policies of Decentralized Cooperation carried out by the Spanish autonomous communities (or regions). The analysis is centre around two perspectives: on the one hand, it considers the characteristics, potentials, and limitations that specialized literature attributes to decentralized cooperation; and, on the other hand, it examines them on the basis of the specific framework developed by the Research Group on Policy Analysis and Evaluation of Development Cooperation1. Based on this framework, cooperation policies of the autonomous communities are analysed, not with the aim of conducting a comparative analysis, but in order to establish the extent of this type of cooperation and to better understanding the relationship between their design and their specific contribution.
