Zusammenfassung
We present a transversal epidemiologic study evaluating the level of health and the necesity of periodontal treatment of a group of Bermeo fishermen. We selected 424 fishermen, all of them males and with a range between 16 to 61 years of age; The mean of the age resulted is 36,55 years (SD = 12.6). We have used an area sampling method. We performed a periodontal exploration to each person using the CPITN index assesing the necesity of periodontal health recommended by the Who. The concluded results showed a high percentage of edentoulous people, a high level of periodontal pathology and therefore a high level of treatments needs for this groups evaluated. These results showed to be superior to the other control groups that we had evaluated and compared.
