Abstract
The processes of fragmentation of habitats are aimed by the scientifi c community as one of the principal reasons of the global crisis of biodiversity. The ecological connectivity, or capacity of the territory to give support to the displacements of the species between places with resources, returns as a criterion to incorporating urgently in the landscape planning. By means of a review of studies in the international context, criteria for the maintenance and the restoration of the connectivity in different areas, from diverse types of landscapes, characterized by the land uses in the landscape dominant element or matrix, up to different types of local barriers, are inferred
