Résumé
The relationship between penal measures and psychological interventions of male perpetrators of domestic violence is reviewed. The reasons underlying the need for psychological therapy, in spite of recent criticisms of this approach, are discussed. A critical review of some recent institutional measures, such as, the public dissemination of lists of convicted perpetrators, is undertaken. Finally, some comments are made with respect to future perspectives in domestic violence as well as the most urgently needed research in this area.
