Our goal is to establish a connection between the financial globalization process and the real economy growth. After an analysis of the factors surrounding the financial globalization concept, we study its effect in the level of financial development, which through the capital cost reduction and the improvement of the efficiency, derives in a growth of the real economy. However, this approach has been conditioned by two possible limiting factors: on the one hand, the possible reverse causality, this means, that it is the development of the real economy itself the one that conditions the financial development, and not the other way around. On the other hand, the existence of distortions that can be due to the negative effects carried by the financial globalization, or caused by factors that have no relation with it
