Zusammenfassung

This article attempts to define, catalog, describe and compare the ball games played in the Basque Country and Valencia in schoolage children. In this study in-depth interviews with experts and observation of selected contexts were conducted to collect information about the type of games played by school children in their territories. Content analysis was based on the theoretical framework of Motor Praxeology and on the characteristics of internal and external logic. Basque and Valencian ball games in school-age children maintain certain structural similarities that place them in the same category but, in turn, their structures have evolved to meet certain differential features marked by the participants and pertaining to the rich body of local culture.
